NEW YORK (AP) — Smashing Pumpkins are attempting to take a different approach to helping military veterans. The band is working with the Easter Seals Dixon Center, the military and veterans arm of Easter Seals. Singer Billy Corgan says it sounds like a simplistic message to help veterans and their families, but he adds it needs to be branded in a new way. Corgan says he comes from a military family, and so does Marilyn Manson, who will tour with Smashing Pumpkins this summer. Corgan says his work with Easter Seals Dixon Center will help veterans re-appropriate their skills to American society.
