Here's this morning's challenge question: Today's the Great American Smoke Out. But it's not necessarily the most effective day to stop smoking. According to a study done by the Bloomberg School of Public Health, THIS is the best day to quit. What day?
It's MONDAY.
According to the study, there's a psychological "resetting of the calendar" that occurs on a Monday that helps it be effective in starting or stopping any habit, and calls to help centers spike at the beginning of the week, backing up that theory. The National Cancer Institute, too, did a survey of visitors to Smokefree.gov confirming that Monday is, historically, the most popular choice for a successful quitting attempt.
Wally guessed it correctly this morning - he's won a $30 gift card to Alberto's Ristorante in Hyannis.
